The effect of soil microflora on the survival of cuttings of Epacris impressa.

Abstract. E. impressa stem cuttings (approx equal to 8 cm long) were planted in sterilized or unsterilized soil (taken from under the original plants). Cuttings in the unsterilized soil were mycorrhizal and had a higher survival rate than those in the sterilized soil which were not mycorrhizal. The surviving cuttings in the unsterilized soil also had more flowers and roots than those in the sterilized soil.
